Most horrible payday experience I ever had they are the worst they are rude and very condescending they make you feel like a piece of crap and how they over charged me and handled my loan was so bad. I would never go back or recommend them everyone should stay away from these guys.

"Credit Checks"
from Belleville says:
Review:
This company is the biggest rip there is going with there credit check for every loan. Then after you faithfully pay them back on time with no problems and they up your supposivley trust level then turn around and deny you another loan because of the pings they are putting on your credit rating. You know they are scam artist when they are giving $400 loans to kids that are 12-15 years old. If you are smart you would find another company to deal with. I am with everyone else and wouldn't use nor recommended to anyone.

"Fees!"
from Toronto says:
Review:
I have good credit with wonga. I am not in arrears, but.. I am currently off sick from work. My loan is due in 9 days. I called because my pay has been delayed so I am trying to be proactive and avoid problems with paying this loan off. Wonga responded that they cannot offer alternative payment options until I am in arrears. So they said to call back once I miss the payment. They are loan sharks. He said the deal was for the 20th if they don't get their money on that date, fees kick in. How is it they can do something after but not before? BS.

You agree to pay back in a certain number of days.....then it takes them up to 2 days to credit your account. I will not deal with them again.

"Read the fine print"
from Guelph says:
Review:
Before anyone borrows from Wonga make sure you know what you are in for. Out of the usual Payday loans out there they are fairly straight forward and for the most part you deal with everything online from verification to acceptance or being declined. Their rates are high but that's the point of payday loans you need the cash now and for that right you pay for it. It's not a 1/2/3 year loan it's a temporary loan up to 1-45 days the more days you request for the promised payment back date the higher the cost. If you needed $400 for 10 days you'd pay back $420 on the 10th and so on. I'm not sure about them leaving credit footprints on your credit report but it's possible. I would recommend you avoid doing this month after month and only in an emergency which is the point. Eventually they will say NO if you are a frequent borrower because that eventually puts you at risk. If you wish to consistently borrow early I recommend moneymart or another. If you are square with Wonga they will treat you right. If you have a delay in repaying or need a payment plan. Don't hide. Don't ignore the calls. Call them up and setup a plan or new promise date. They will freeze the interest going up and it going to collections. However fail to pay them back and I'm certain you'll be dodging calls and letters for a year and you don't need that stress. I've had to call customer support 4 times and I'd say the best time to reach them is in the morning or around noon .They do reply to email too but the response is often the next day but make sure you mention who you are and your associated account email and cellphone don't expect them to know who you are even though they should. Best of luck to all of you who decide to use Wonga but let's hope you don't have to. In the end if you are really deep in debt it's best to get advice from experts we all mess up now and then some more than others but make sure if you borrow that you 100% can pay it back. It is Never the end of the world there is always a solution. Don't give up.

"Rude"
from Windsor says:
Review:
I had contacted Wonga for info and while I was speaking with them about credit check the customer service was as rude as can be. Felt like they were bullying me when I was trying to ask questions they didn't want to listen. Sure am glad I never got any loan from them. Don't understand how our Goverment is letting them operate but this Canada and they seem to let anyone come to this country and let them screw Canadians. Wonga needs to go back to England where it came from. They just make me hate England even more.

"Wrong Choice!"
Wrong Choice! from toronto says:
Review:
Let me start off by saying that this company is to the highest degree of incompetency. they rely only on this corrupt system of theirs to verify if people are qualified for a loan, and when they do approve you they do not even notify you what is your limit, hence if you are in need of more you going to re apply to see what is the amount you can can get up to. so these clowns then think I am fraudulent. Then I get in contact with them in 3 different occasions and don't get a response back after 2 days.Ffinally I decide to call and speak with a supervisor and this person first of of all doesn't even speak proficient English. I explained the flaws in the system and all he does is read from the same script and goes to the point of even threatening me that I will never get approved with their system because of me not listening to what he had to say, and aight that he will write to the tech team to keep denying me in the future. Therefore do not waste your time even applying. You are better off with companies like Cash Money, Money Mart, Goday or My Canada Payday. Wonga is definitely WRONGER,

"Wasted my time"
from Ontario says:
Review:
First time I tried to apply I didn't complete the form as I decided to do it later and they still text me a pin # even though I never sent anything through. I went back on a few hours later to finish applying and had saved all my info including banking info. The final step for approval within an hour is to give them YOUR BANKCARD # AND YOUR ONLINE BANKING PASSWORD so they can log in and see your account activity. Obviously not going to do that so I tried the only option available for me (Facebook is an option but do not have an account) displayed a message stating oops, this option is not available. Had no problem getting ahold of customer service however they are useless basically reading a script. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!!!!!

"Interest Rate is too high!"
from Edmonton says:
Review:
On their website a 500 dollar loan for 30 days is repaid for 600.25 dollars (fees and interest) that is a 20% interest rate per month!!!!! This makes a rip off credit card look like a bargain! You have to be crazy and/or desperate to use these loan sharks.

"Loan took a long time"
from Toronto says:
Review:
This loan place was very easy to sign up with however they are complete garbage for a loan for 2 days it took 1 and a half days to recieve it, they also had no problem taking their money yet declined a re loan for reasons they could not explain also when asked to have my private information deleted they did not offer an option to do so on their website yet advised me they would send a request to their head office !!! Never again why make a process so easy to have it take so long and not ever work again they need to re evaluate !!!

"Not happy with the Customer Service"
from Toronto says:
Review:
IMO worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life. I found he application process is 100% deceitful, the way they cater to you and offer all kinds of tech savvy options to communicate with them stops as soon as you've applied. If you're able to get a hold of someone in their client care team, you deserve $1 million prize. They took an additional $200 from my bank account four days after my loan was repaid, with no explanation and no warning. Stay away at all costs, it will only be a matter of time before the Canadian regulator shut them down!

"Not Recommended"
from Toronto says:
Review:
Terrible, I would not recommend the service to anyone. The address listed in my profile is incorrect. It is not possible for me to change it myself, and I am told by the customer service call center that I must send my request by email. Despite several requests to change the address, I have not even received a reply from their email customer service department. I expected the high interest rates as it is a payday loan service after all, however, I had expected slightly better service than this. I am not comfortable with a company as badly managed as Wonga.ca seems to be, having my personal information. Steer Clear!

"Worth it"
from Welland, ON says:
Review:
I just applied for a Wonga.ca loan and was accepted. I was accepted by them when my own bank (National Bank of Canada) won't even give me a bloody $100 of personal account overdraft protection and I've been with them for 12 years and hold my business's current account with them which has a more than healthy regular cash flow. It makes me laugh that the critics of this company (obvious schills of the traditional lending industry) like to convert the fees to an APR value but look at nothing concerning the usurious "service charges" banks charge to a small business or individual, simply because it's not called interest. For me it's worth not having the hastle and the BS other "institutions" make you go through. My suggestion to the high-minded politicians and financial gurus is to mind their own businesses and leave Wonga alone!
